Description

This refreshing Antioxidant Blueberry-Lemon Green Tea is a fruity, invigorating beverage loaded with health benefits. Bursting with antioxidant-rich blueberries, tart lemon juice, and green tea, it’s a perfect drink for warm days or as a wellness boost any time of the year.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces frozen blueberries – Or substitute with 2 cups of blueberry juice. Adds natural sweetness and a vibrant purple hue.
  • 1 cup water – For simmering the blueberries and creating a concentrated blueberry juice.
  • 3/4 cup organic raw sugar – Adjust to taste for the right balance of sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice – Freshly squeezed lemon juice adds a bright, tart contrast to the sweet berries.
  • 6 cups strong green tea – Brewed and chilled. Offers earthy flavor and powerful antioxidants.

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Mint Leaves – For a cooling, herbal touch.
  • Sliced Lemons – A colorful, flavorful garnish.
  • Sparkling Water – For a bubbly, refreshing twist.

Instructions

  1. Simmer the blueberries: In a medium saucepan, combine the frozen blueberries with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until the berries burst and release their juice.
  2. Strain and sweeten: Pour the blueberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a heat-safe bowl or pitcher. Press with the back of a spoon to extract as much juice as possible. Stir in the raw sugar until fully dissolved.
  3. Add lemon juice: Mix in the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the blueberry syrup.
  4. Combine with tea: In a large pitcher, combine the blueberry-lemon mixture with 6 cups of chilled green tea. Stir well to mix.
  5. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the tea for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld. Serve over ice with optional mint leaves and lemon slices. For a sparkling version, add chilled sparkling water just before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less sugar.
  • For convenience, you can use pre-brewed green tea or tea bags (about 4–6 bags for 6 cups of water).
  • Try freezing leftover tea into ice cubes for a fun twist that won’t dilute your drink!
