Description

Deliciously flaky Baked Feta Phyllo Bites filled with creamy feta, sweet fig jam, and topped with a drizzle of honey for a perfect appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 package Phyllo dough (16 oz, 18 sheets)
  • 8 oz Butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup Fig jam
  • 1/4 cup Pistachios, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp Chipotle powder (to taste)
  • 8 oz Feta, sliced lengthwise into long rectangles
  • Honey (to taste, about 1/2 to 1 tbsp per bite)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the phyllo by cutting it in half and rolling one half back up to keep it fresh.
  2. Brush 2-3 tablespoons of melted butter between layers of phyllo sheets.
  3. Spread a layer of fig jam onto the brushed phyllo, then sprinkle with pistachios, chives, chipotle powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place feta at the wider end of the phyllo and roll it tightly around the cheese.
  5. Slice the rolled phyllo into 12 rounds.
  6. Preheat a muffin pan by adding 1/2 tablespoon of butter to each cup.
  7. Place phyllo bites in the muffin tin and drizzle with more melted butter.
  8. Bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle hot honey over the bites right after removing from the oven.

Notes

Ensure phyllo is thawed properly to avoid tearing. Experiment with different jams and nuts for unique flavors.
