A rich and flavorful spread made from roasted bone marrow and unsalted butter, perfect for toasting on bread.

- 5–6 Bone Marrow Short Bones
- 6 oz Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
- 2 tbsp Chives
- 1 tsp Honey
- 1.5 tsp Tamari
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- Garlic Cloves (Optional, for Bread)
- Ciabatta or Any Bread of Choice (for Serving)
- Optional Add-ons: Fresh herbs, Lemon Zest
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Arrange the bone marrow short bones upright on a baking sheet and roast for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Carefully scoop out the marrow and rendered fat into a bowl.
- In a food processor, combine the marrow, rendered fat, butter, chives, tamari, honey, and seasoning. Blend until smooth.
- Poke a hole in a small paper cup and thread a wick through. Pour the butter mixture into the cup around the wick and freeze for 15-20 minutes.
- Slice and toast the ciabatta. Serve topped with the Bone Marrow Butter Candle.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, consider using a plant-based butter substitute. Customize with your favorite herbs or spices.
