- A light vanilla or cream cheese glaze (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Brown the butter in a medium frying pan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it turns amber and smells nutty; then cool for 15 minutes.
- Sift or whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar, and cornstarch in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, combine the browned butter with granulated sugar, then add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Gently fold in the dry ingredients until no streaks remain.
- Combine the cinnamon and sugar for rolling, scoop the dough, and roll each ball in the mixture.
- Place dough balls on the baking sheet, spacing them at least 2 inches apart.
- Bake the cookies for 12–14 minutes until the edges are golden.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
