Description

Coffee Panna Cotta is a smooth and creamy Italian dessert infused with the rich flavor of espresso. Elegant and easy to make, it’s perfect for coffee lovers looking for a sophisticated yet simple treat.

Ingredients

Scale
    • 2 cups heavy cream: The base of the dessert, giving it a luxurious texture.
    • 1/2 cup whole milk: Lightens the cream slightly for balance.
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar: Just enough to sweeten the dessert without overpowering the coffee.
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant espresso powder: Adds deep, bold coffee flavor.
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: Rounds out the flavors with warmth and depth.
    • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin: Sets the panna cotta to the perfect jiggle.
    • 3 tablespoons water: Used to bloom the gelatin before mixing.

  • Optional Add-Ons:
  • Whipped cream: Adds a light and fluffy topping.
  • Chocolate shavings: For a touch of elegance and added flavor.

Instructions

  1. Bloom the gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over 3 tablespoons of cold water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes to bloom.
  2. Heat the cream mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and espresso powder. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat.
  3. Add vanilla and gelatin: Stir in the vanilla extract. Then add the bloomed gelatin and whisk until completely dissolved.
  4. Pour into molds: Pour the mixture into ramekins or small glasses. Let them cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  5. Serve: Serve chilled. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

  • To easily unmold panna cotta, dip the ramekin in warm water for a few seconds and run a knife around the edge before inverting onto a plate.
  • You can substitute brewed strong coffee for instant espresso powder if needed (reduce liquid accordingly).
  • Adjust the sweetness to taste based on the strength of your coffee preference.
