Description

Lemon Tiramisu is a refreshing and zesty twist on the traditional Italian dessert. Made with lemon-soaked ladyfingers, rich mascarpone cream, and tangy lemon curd, it’s a bright, no-bake treat perfect for spring and summer occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • Lemon peel from 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 7 ounces (about 24) ladyfingers
  • 1112 ounces lemon curd
  • Extra lemon zest (for garnish, optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and lemon peel. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and let it cool completely.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon zest until soft peaks form. Do not overwhip.
  3. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled lemon syrup (do not soak). Layer half of the dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of an 8×8 or 9×9 dish.
  4. Spread about ⅓ of the lemon curd over the ladyfingers, followed by half of the mascarpone cream mixture.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining ladyfingers, another ⅓ of lemon curd, and the remaining mascarpone cream. Drizzle any remaining lemon curd on top.
  6. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. Garnish with extra lemon zest before serving.

Notes

  • Dip the ladyfingers quickly to prevent them from becoming soggy.
  • For best flavor, chill overnight before serving.
  • You can use sponge cake or cupcakes if ladyfingers are unavailable.
  • Cream cheese can substitute mascarpone, though the flavor may vary slightly.
