Description

Filet Mignon with Shrimp and Lobster Cream Sauce is an elegant surf-and-turf dish perfect for special occasions. Tender filet mignon steaks are topped with a luxurious cream sauce filled with shrimp, lobster, and garlic, creating a rich and flavorful main course.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 filet mignon steaks
  • 4 shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lobster tail, cooked and meat removed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup seafood stock (or chicken stock as a substitute)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or chives), for garnish (optional)
  • Sautéed mushrooms (optional)
  • Asparagus or broccoli, for serving (optional)
  • 1/4 cup white wine (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season filet mignon steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steaks in a bit of butter or oil for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove from pan and let rest.
  3. In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  4. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add lobster meat to the pan and stir gently for 1 minute. Remove and set aside with the shrimp.
  6. Deglaze the pan with white wine (if using) and let it reduce by half.
  7. Pour in seafood stock and heavy cream. Simmer over medium heat until the sauce thickens (about 5–7 minutes).
  8. Return shrimp and lobster to the sauce and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Plate each filet mignon and top with generous spoonfuls of the shrimp and lobster cream sauce.
  10. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with optional sides like mushrooms, asparagus, or broccoli.

Notes

  • For best results, let your steaks come to room temperature before searing.
  • Use high-quality seafood for maximum flavor.
  • The cream sauce can be made ahead of time and gently reheated.
  • This dish pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes or rice.
