Description

Honey Popcorn is a deliciously sweet and crunchy snack made with freshly popped kernels coated in a rich honey-butter glaze. It’s perfect for parties, movie nights, or when you’re just craving something a little indulgent yet easy to make. Customize it with your favorite toppings like nuts, chocolate, or sprinkles!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons oil (canola, avocado, or coconut oil)
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (optional)
  • Optional: Chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, walnuts)
  • Optional: Sprinkles
  • Optional: Melted chocolate for drizzle
  • Optional: Spices like cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add popcorn kernels and cover with a lid.
  2. Shake the pot occasionally until the popping slows to 2–3 seconds between pops. Remove from heat and pour popcorn into a large bowl.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey and butter. Stir constantly until the mixture is melted and starts to bubble gently.
  4. Remove the honey-butter mixture from heat and stir in kosher salt if using.
  5. Immediately pour the honey mixture over the popcorn and gently stir until evenly coated.
  6. For added flavor and texture, mix in nuts or sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, or colorful sprinkles.
  7. Let the popcorn cool slightly before serving. Optionally drizzle with melted chocolate for an extra treat.

Notes

  • Use a large bowl for easier mixing and coating.
  • If you prefer a crispier finish, bake the coated popcorn at 250°F (120°C) for 15–20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • This recipe is great for parties, holidays, or as a homemade gift.
