Description

These Nutella Banana Muffins are the perfect blend of sweet, rich banana flavor and swirls of creamy Nutella. Moist, fluffy, and indulgent, they make a fantastic breakfast, snack, or dessert. They’re easy to whip up and even easier to devour!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 ripe bananas (about 2 cups mashed)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup Nutella

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans)
  • Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • Dried fruit (raisins or cranberries)
  • Spices (a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease lightly.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mash the bananas and mix in the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fill muffin cups about 3/4 full. Drop about a teaspoon of Nutella on top of each muffin and swirl gently with a toothpick or knife.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (a little Nutella is fine).
  7. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Make sure bananas are very ripe with lots of brown spots for the best flavor.
  • You can warm the Nutella slightly to make it easier to swirl.
  • Muffins can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
