Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together self-rising flour, orange zest, and cinnamon (if using). Add brown sugar if desired.
- In a separate bowl, mix orange juice, plant-based milk, olive oil, and vanilla extract (if using).
- Pour wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead. Shape into a 1-inch thick round disc.
- Cut into 8 triangles and transfer to the baking sheet, leaving space between each scone.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While scones are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking orange juice, orange zest, and icing sugar until smooth.
- Allow scones to cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze before serving.
