Description

This Spinach Ricotta Quiche is a creamy, savory dish perfect for brunch, lunch, or even a light dinner. With a flaky crust and a flavorful filling made from ricotta cheese, spinach, eggs, and Parmesan, it’s easy to make and endlessly customizable.

Ingredients

Scale

Essential Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Chopped onion or shallots (sautéed)
  • Diced bell peppers or mushrooms
  • Cooked bacon or diced ham
  • Fresh herbs like parsley or basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare crust: Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and pre-bake for 7–8 minutes until slightly golden. Set aside.
  3. Sauté spinach (optional): If you prefer, lightly sauté the chopped spinach until wilted and let it cool. Otherwise, you can use it raw.
  4. Mix filling: In a bowl, whisk together ricotta, eggs, milk, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir in chopped spinach and any optional ingredients you’re using.
  5. Assemble quiche: Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust and smooth the top.
  6. Bake: Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the quiche rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use full-fat ricotta for the creamiest texture.
  • If using frozen spinach, thaw and squeeze out excess moisture before adding.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated.
