Essential Ingredients:

  • 2 thin-skinned lemons (3 to 3.5 ounces each)
  • 10 ounces strawberries (hulled, about 2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 cups cold water (divided)
  • Ice for serving

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Mint leaves for garnish
  • Slices of lemon or strawberries for extra flair
  • A splash of soda water for fizz
  • A hint of fresh basil or rosemary for a unique twist

Instructions

  1. Juice the lemons: Roll lemons on the counter to release juices, then juice them to yield about 1/3 cup of lemon juice. Remove seeds.
  2. Blend strawberries: In a blender, combine strawberries, lemon juice, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Blend until smooth.
  3. Strain (optional): For a smoother drink, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp.
  4. Mix and chill: In a pitcher, combine the strawberry-lemon mixture with the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Serve: Pour over ice and garnish with optional mint, lemon slices, or strawberry slices. Add a splash of soda water if desired for a bubbly version.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar depending on the ripeness of your strawberries.
