Topping:

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dough: In a saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a full boil over high heat.
  2. Add Flour: Reduce heat to medium-low, gradually stir in flour until dough forms and pulls away from pan.
  3. Mix Egg & Vanilla: Transfer dough to bowl to cool 4–5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth and sticky.
  4. Pipe Churros: Fill a piping bag fitted with a star tip with dough.
  5. Preheat Air Fryer: Set to 375°F (190°C). Spray basket with nonstick spray.
  6. Pipe Dough: Pipe bite-sized pieces into basket without overcrowding.
  7. Air Fry: Brush tops with melted butter. Cook 10–12 minutes until puffed and golden.
  8. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar: Toss hot churros in sugar-cinnamon mixture until coated. Optionally brush with more melted butter to help sugar stick.
