Description

Indulgent cookies that combine crunchy Valentine’s M&M shells with chunks of Oreo for a tender, gooey center, perfect for gifting or festive desserts.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups (165 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 2/3 cup Valentine’s Day M&M’s
  • 7 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
  • White chocolate chips (2–3 tablespoons, optional)
  • Toasted hazelnuts or almonds (2–3 tablespoons, chopped, optional)
  • A few drops of almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a medium bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt; then add to the wet ingredients and stir just until combined.
  5. Fold in the M&M’s and chopped Oreo pieces until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop the dough into 10 equal mounds and space them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 13 minutes, then gently shape with a round-bottomed spatula while warm.
  8. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. If desired, sprinkle with flaky sea salt while warm.

Notes

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for longer storage.
