Description
An elegant and flavorful appetizer that transforms a simple wheel of brie into a delicious butter candle infused with roasted garlic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8–10 oz brie wheel
- 2–3 oz softened unsalted butter
- 1/2 tablespoon honey
- 1 head roasted garlic (cloves removed)
- 1 pinch flaky salt
- Crispy bread or crackers, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Brie Shell: Gently press a smaller cookie cutter into the top of the brie, remove the rind, and scoop out some of the interior, leaving the shell intact.
- Create the Wick Opening: Poke a small hole in the bottom center of the brie and thread a food-safe wick through.
- Make the Brie Butter: In a food processor, blend reserved brie pieces, softened butter, roasted garlic, honey, and flaky salt until smooth.
- Fill and Set: Spoon the brie butter mixture back into the brie shell, keeping the wick straight, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
- Finish: Trim the wick to 1 inch, create a small divot around it, and serve with crispy bread or crackers.
Notes
Feel free to personalize your Butter Candle with fresh herbs or sliced almonds. Use pre-roasted garlic for a quicker option.
