Scale
- 2 boxes (about 9–10 oz. each) vanilla wafers
- 6–8 ripe bananas, sliced
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 (5 oz.) box French vanilla instant pudding mix
- 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 oz.) container whipped topping, thawed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- A pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
- A handful of chopped toasted pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions
- Prep your dish and bananas by arranging a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom of a 13×9-inch baking dish.
- Slice the bananas and layer them over the wafers in a single even layer.
- Pour 2 cups of cold milk into a medium mixing bowl.
- Add the French vanilla pudding mix to the milk and whisk for about 2 minutes until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, blend the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk until silky and lump-free.
- Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture, then add the prepared pudding mix in two batches, folding gently.
- Pour the creamy mixture over the layered bananas and wafers.
- Arrange the remaining vanilla wafers on top.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute with lower-fat milk and cream cheese. Assemble the pudding shortly after slicing the bananas to prevent browning.
