  • Author: Sarah Mendez
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 68 mini pizzas 1x

Description

These Mini Spider Pizzas are spookily cute, cheesy, and perfect for Halloween parties or a fun cooking activity with kids. Using simple ingredients like refrigerated pizza dough, marinara sauce, mozzarella, and olives, you can whip up creepy-crawly pizzas in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale

Essentials:

  • 14 oz refrigerated pizza crust
  • 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup black olives (pitted recommended)

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Vegetables (sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, mini pepperoni)
  • Seasonings (Italian herbs, crushed red pepper)

Substitutions & Shortcuts:

  • Swap black olives with kalamata or green olives.
  • Use store-bought pizza sauce to save time.
  • Not a fan of olives? Create spiders with pepperoni, cheese cutouts, or even veggie strips.

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Pizza Dough: Roll out refrigerated pizza dough onto a floured surface. Cut out 6–8 circles (4–5 inches each) with a cookie cutter or mug. Transfer to baking sheet.
  3. Add Sauce & Cheese: Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce onto each circle, leaving a ¼-inch border. Top with shredded mozzarella.
  4. Make the Olive Spiders: Slice olives in half lengthwise for bodies. Slice others into thin strips for legs, and small tips for heads.
  5. Decorate: Place olive pieces on top of cheese to form spiders. Have fun with different arrangements.
  6. Bake: Bake for 8–10 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
  7. Serve: Let cool slightly, then serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Get the kids involved! Let them create their own spider designs with olives or toppings.
  • For extra crispy bases, pre-bake dough circles for 3 minutes before adding sauce and toppings.
  • Mini pizzas can be frozen after baking—just reheat in the oven at 375°F for 5–7 minutes.
