Description

A rich and creamy Oreo mousse cake featuring a buttery Oreo crust and a light, fluffy mousse, perfect for cookie lovers and beginners alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache (optional)
  • Extra crushed Oreos (optional)
  • Mini chocolate chips or chocolate shavings (optional)
  • Chopped nuts (optional)
  • Fresh strawberries or raspberries (optional)
  • Sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep and chill your equipment by placing a mixing bowl and beaters in the fridge for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor until mostly fine, or use a zip-top bag and a rolling pin.
  3. Make the Oreo crust by mixing Oreo crumbs with melted butter and pressing into a springform pan.
  4. Chill the crust in the fridge for 15-30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  6. Beat the cream cheese in a separate bowl until smooth and free of lumps.
  7. Fold a third of the whipped cream into the cream cheese to loosen the mixture, then gently fold in the remaining whipped cream.
  8. Optionally, add crushed Oreos into the mousse for added texture.
  9. Build the cake by adding half the mousse onto the crust and smoothing it out.
  10. Top the mousse layer with the remaining mousse and smooth the top.
  11. Chill the assembled cake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  12. Garnish the cake with chocolate ganache and optional toppings before serving.
  13. Slice and serve chilled for a delicious treat.

Notes

For best results, chill the mousse cake overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the mousse to set properly.
