Description

These Spicy Crackers are homemade, crunchy, and packed with bold flavors. Made with simple pantry staples like flour, butter or olive oil, and a blend of spices, they’re the perfect snack for spice lovers. Great on their own or paired with dips and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1–2 tablespoons cheese powder
  • Optional: Dried herbs like rosemary or basil
  • Optional: Sesame or poppy seeds for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cayenne pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to mix evenly.
  3. Add the melted butter or olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a crumbly dough forms.
  4. Gradually add a few tablespoons of water, one at a time, until the dough comes together into a firm but pliable consistency.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Cut into squares or desired shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
  7. Transfer the crackers to the prepared baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle with cheese powder, herbs, or seeds.
  8. Use a fork to poke holes in each cracker to prevent puffing.
  9. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
