- 1/4 cup melted butter or olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1–2 tablespoons cheese powder
- Optional: Dried herbs like rosemary or basil
- Optional: Sesame or poppy seeds for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cayenne pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to mix evenly.
- Add the melted butter or olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a crumbly dough forms.
- Gradually add a few tablespoons of water, one at a time, until the dough comes together into a firm but pliable consistency.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut into squares or desired shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
- Transfer the crackers to the prepared baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle with cheese powder, herbs, or seeds.
- Use a fork to poke holes in each cracker to prevent puffing.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
