Description

A quick and easy Tomato Garlic Salad featuring juicy beefsteak tomatoes, a creamy garlic dressing, and fresh dill. Perfect for busy weeknights and kid-friendly!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 56 beefsteak tomatoes (ripe but still firm)
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated or pressed
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • Optional: A squeeze of lemon or 1 teaspoon of white wine vinegar
  • Optional: A handful of chopped cucumber
  • Optional: A few torn basil leaves
  • Optional: Crumbled feta or cubed mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Make the dressing in one bowl: combine sour cream, mayonnaise, and garlic. Stir until smooth.
  2. Season the dressing with salt and pepper. Adjust with lemon juice or vinegar if needed.
  3. Chop the tomatoes into large chunks and add to the bowl.
  4. Add chopped dill and toss gently to combine.
  5. Adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper if required, and thin the dressing if necessary.
  6. Serve immediately or chill for 10–15 minutes to meld flavors.

Notes

For variations, consider adding red onion, lemon juice, or crumbled cheese. This salad can be made ahead by preparing the dressing separately.
